Compositor, flautista e multi-instrumentista norte-americano sediado faz já alguns anos em Atenas, John Also Bennet tcp JAB tem vindo a magicar uma música marcada pela serenidade e a contemplação, de um tempo sem pressas, aparentemente imóvel mas sempre fluído. Colaborador regular de Christina Vantzou, tem traçado uma obra discreta e muito coerente, com aparições em editoras como a Shelter Press, Kranky ou Seance Centre. Entre o minimalismo, ambient e a transcendência, JAB tece tapeçarias envolventes de recursos parcos mas essenciais - pads flutuantes, melodias hipnóticas de flauta, gravações de campo, texturas aquosas de electrónica - que, no mais recente 'Στον Ελαιώνα / Ston Elaióna' - Shelter Press, 2025 - capturam aquele limiar da madrugada, entre a memória do sonho e a vigilância.

American composer, flautist and multi-instrumentalist based in Athens for several years now, John Also Bennett (aka JAB) has been quietly shaping a body of work marked by serenity and contemplation, unfolding in a time without urgency – apparently still, yet always in motion. A regular collaborator of Christina Vantzou, he has developed a discreet and deeply coherent practice, with releases on labels such as Shelter Press, Kranky, and Seance Centre.
Moving between minimalism, ambient, and transcendence, JAB weaves immersive tapestries from sparse but essential means like floating pads, hypnotic flute lines, field recordings, aqueous electronic textures, which, on the recent Στον Ελαιώνα / Ston Elaióna (Shelter Press, 2025), capture that threshold of dawn, between the memory of dreams and wakefulness.

Filiada, desde cedo, ao comité influente da londrina Blackest Ever Black, através da sua presença icónica em F Ingers e Tarcar, foi nessa mesma editora que Carla dal Forno assumiu a sua entidade com a edição de 'You Know What It's Like' em 2016. Volvida uma década, e uma travessia da cena fértil de Melbourne, na Austrália para Inglaterra e de volta ao outback australiano, com mais dois álbuns lapidares dessa mesma identidade, dal Forno regressa este ano com a luminosidade de 'Confession'. Num processo que tem aberto brechas à escuridão de tempos idos a cada novo registo, 'Confession' é a sequência lógica de 'Come Around', desta synth-pop depurada, descendente da refracção do post-punk para o minimalismo de Young Marble Giants ou para as paisagens de Virginia Astley, em canções cruas, despojadas de tudo aquilo que seja supérfluo, assentes em linhas de baixo repetitivas, tangentes de sintetizador e uma voz que canaliza tudo isso de uma forma casual e assombrada.

From an early stage, Carla dal Forno was closely associated with the influential orbit of London’s Blackest Ever Black, through her iconic presence in projects such as F Ingers and Tarcar. It was on that very label that she stepped fully into her own artistic identity with the release of ‘You Know What It’s Like’ in 2016. A decade later – after a journey that has taken her from the fertile music scene of Melbourne to England and back to Australian, and following two more defining albums under her own name, dal Forno returns this year with the luminous ‘Confession’. With each successive release opening further cracks in the darkness of earlier years, ‘Confession’ feels like the natural continuation of ‘Come Around’ - its stripped-back synth-pop descending from post-punk refracted through the minimalism of Young Marble Giants and the pastoral dreamscapes of Virginia Astley. These are songs pared down to their essentials, built on repetitive bass lines, drifting synth figures, and a voice that carries it all with an effortless, haunted presence.

Está completo e lançado no mundo o desenho do OUT.FEST 2026: o último lote de confirmações traz o requiem para uma máquina de tricot de bujiwa, Sofia Nunes & Marta Nunes, a dupla multidisciplinar Xavier Paes & Inês Tartaruga Água a pontuar todos os dias de festival com as suas investigações sobre material e vibração, um passeio sonoro a cargo de Alëna Koleso por uma das pérolas selvagens da cidade, um convivium inaugural com Paixão, a imersão no universo 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 do pioneiro Phill Niblock, a inauguração de uma sala de escuta para revisitar as histórias subterrâneas da música do futuro no séc. XX tal como contadas pela Sub Rosa, e uma conferência inteiramente dedicada às questões da música e (d)eficiência. É um mundo bom aqui.

The shape of OUT.FEST 2026 is now complete and set loose in the world: this final wave of announcements brings bujiwa, Sofia Nunes & Marta Nunes' requiem for a knitting machine, the multidisciplinary duo Xavier Paes & Inês Tartaruga Água, whose investigations into material and vibration will punctuate every day of the festival, a sound walk led by Alëna Koleso through one of the city's wild hidden gems, an inaugural convivium with Paixão, an immersion into the intermedia work of pioneer Phill Niblock, the opening of a listening room revisiting the subterranean histories of the 20th century's music of the future as told by Sub Rosa, and a conference entirely dedicated to questions of music and (dis)ability. It is a good world here.

Uma das figuras agitadoras da movida lisboeta na última década, seja por via da co-germinação do saudoso Planeta Manas, na organização das festas mina e Desce, na Rádio Quântica ou em diversos dj sets, BLEID tem vindo a pautar-se por uma postura discreta mas influente. Mais conhecida pelo trabalho que desenvolve nos bastidores e enquanto DJ, teve no ano passado um período particularmente fértil em edições com 'GRITOS' na All Centre, 'MAS VIDAS' na Ashida Park, 'Medusas' na Discos Extendes ou 'EZ' na sua DESCE num mapa que vai de bangers speedados, a perreo cyber-tech, passando por breaks, momentos de contemplação e uma sensibilidade muito sua na forma como reorganiza continuamente todas estas coordenadas numa visão global das vivências na pista e do seu poder transformador e comunitário.

One of the key instigators within Lisbon’s underground music community over the past decade, BLEID has maintained a discreet yet influential presence through the co-founding of the much-missed Planeta Manas, the organisation of mina and Desce parties, her work with Rádio Quântica, and a wide range of DJ sets. Though best known for her work behind the scenes and behind the decks, last year marked an especially prolific period of releases, with ‘GRITOS’ (All Centre), ‘MAS VIDAS’ (Ashida Park), ‘Medusas’ (Discos Extendes) and ‘EZ’ (Desce). Across these works, sped-up bangers, cyber-tech perreo, breaks and moments of contemplation are continually reassembled through a distinctly personal sensibility, shaped by an expansive vision of dancefloor experience and its power to transform and bring people together.

Entidade incendiária vinda de Nova Iorque, capitaneada por Dan Orlowski na companhia de Hatechild e do recém-chegado baterista John Bemis (Murderpact), com uma vasta rede mutante de colaboradores na produção, Deli Girls operam num território de activismo e terrorismo sónico queer, freak e consciente, destilado numa forma furiosamente celebratória feita da velocidade do gabber, de gritos rasgados herdados do screamo, de visões e multitudes hiper-reais, de ruído e de uma postura punk as fuck que atira petardos às estruturas patriarcais e reclama espaço tanto para a dança como para o mosh pit. Regresso ansiado a este país, após passagens marcadas na retina e no osso.

An incendiary entity out of New York, led by Dan Orlowski alongside Hatechild and newly joined drummer John Bemis (Murderpact), with a vast, ever-shifting network of collaborators in production, Deli Girls operate in a space of queer, freak, and conscious sonic activism/terrorism, distilled into a furiously celebratory form driven by gabber velocity, shredded screamo vocals, hyperreal visions and multitudes, noise, and a punk as fuck stance that hurls firecrackers at patriarchal structures while claiming space for both the dancefloor and the mosh pit. A long-awaited return to Portugal, following appearances that left their mark on retina and bone.

Aliança entre Tiago Carneiro tcp Tendency e Nuno Loureiro, entes vitais da movida portuense, que procuram aqui desconstruir ideias estanques de DJ Set. Processando em tempo real, por via do sampling e de efeitos, as escolhas sapientes da vasta colecção de discos de Carneiro, Loureiro manipula as realidades aí contidas para uma nova dimensão, um espaço liminal mutante entre o live set e o DJ Set. 'Live Mix at Donau', registo captado da sua primeira aparição ao vivo, com edição pela Out Of Order, traça um ponto de partida para este mundo de possibilidades, pegando nas histórias marcadas em vinil do hardcore continuum, do ambientalismo e da abstração electrónica para as reconfigurar num fluxo continuamente vivo.

An alliance between Tiago Carneiro, aka Tendency, and Nuno Loureiro, both key figures in Porto’s movida, set out to dismantle fixed ideas of what a DJ set can be. Processing in real time, through sampling and effects, the carefully chosen selections from Carneiro’s extensive record collection, Loureiro reshapes their internal realities into a new dimension: a mutable liminal space between live set and DJ set. “Live Mix at Donau”, a recording captured from their first live appearance and released on Out Of Order, marks a point of departure for this field of possibilities, drawing on the histories inscribed in vinyl – from the hardcore continuum to ambient music and electronic abstraction – and reconfiguring them into a continuously unfolding flow.
