The recipient of OUT.RA’s creative grant for 2022, Rita Santos will present at OUT.FEST the installation A Segunda Natureza – Second Nature. From Barreiro and currently enveloped in a Masters in Musical Sciences, Rita Santos has been developing sound art pieces from soundscapes captured in situ and their spatial reconfiguration as a way to reflect on the conscience of sound. Following these conceptions, A Segunda Natureza starts from the idea of the uterus as our first “home” to erect an immersive space where water is the primary environment, but still permeable to the outside world, through the use of recordings of aquatic environments, everyday sounds, whisper and a beating heart.
