A coalition of three well known musicians - Oren Ambarchi, Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin - with a remote common past in the Fire! Orchestra - from which both Berthling and Werliin are still part of - that started developing their own language a few years ago as a trio. Based on a classic formation of guitar, bass and drums, Ghosted avoid all the trappings of a common power trio at its most rudimentary to create a living entity that arouses the fusionist spirit somewhere between the atmospheres of 70’s ECM and the astral travellings of Pharoah Sanders or Don Cherry in that same decade, minimalism, Chicago post-rock and pan-african rituals in the same breath. Digressions that develop patiently and with an acute sense of direction, taking “repetition” as a springboard for mutating shapes.
