In recent times, few have been the musicians operating in Portugal with the drive and urgency of André Neves. An artist from Barreiro more known as George Silver for those on the outside, Neves has been a towering figure among this landscape, through solo performances, dj sets, radio apparitions via his Sincopado show on Radio Quantica or as a drummer in the trio DEBUT! and electronics wizard in AFF with Miguel Torga and Diogo Vasconcelos. A kaleidoscopic and voracious instinct that feeds upon the most diverse legacies – African polyrhythms, Brazilian warmth, Acid House and its chill variations from the early 90s or the contemplative nature of Southeast Asian music – and shuffles them with a contagious happiness and sense of wonder. Inocente Indecente, released last year under the sponsorship of OUT.RA's annual creative grant revealed his sense of discovery of some occult pan-culture, and it's imbued in this exploratory feeling that Silver, following OUT.FEST's challenge, presents his new band – Gold – comprised of David Caiado, Duarte Reis and Ernesto Vitali.
