Eve Risser

French musician, composer and improviser with a long and respectable trail along jazz, Eve Risser counts on the piano as her primordial instrument for creation and development of a deeply personal language, permeable to all manner of benign outside influences. In a continuous learning curve since childhood, Risser's been mapping her own music outside the stale canons of jazz, displaying an array of solutions that make us question the origin of sound itself from hallucinatory timbres, repetition, percussive stabs, skewed swing and extended techniques. Particularly prolific since the beginning of this century, Risser was a part of the respectable Orchestre National de Jazz between 2009 and 2013, collaborates frequently with some of the leading figures on the French scene such as Edward Perraud or Benjamin Duboc, released several albums with Portuguese label Clean Feed and has been maintaining a healthy and close relation with this country through collaborations with musicians as active as Marcelo dos Reis and Pedro Melo Alves.
