A composer and sound artist based in Paris, Eve Aboulkheir brings her academic training to life through installations, performances, and compositions that blend electroacoustic manipulation of field recordings and modular synthesis to craft an immersive and sensorial acoustic “new world”. Following the release of '22/12/2017 Guilin Synthetic Daydream' on a split record with Lasse Marhaug on the esteemed GRM Portrait Series (earning praise from none other than Mr. Jim O’Rourke), 2023 saw the unveiling of 'Hypnagogic Walks' on KRAAK. With a title that speaks for itself, 'Hypnagogic Walks' delves into that liminal state between sleep and wakefulness, where vivid hallucinations intertwine with reality. Across eight pieces, intricate details pop in and out of the shadows in a hallucinatory synthetic flow that, while tethered to reality, propels listeners into a hypnotic and always unexplored space-time continuum.
