Reissued on vinyl last year through O__o? Records, after a digital self-release in the middle of the pandemic that gained cult status, 'Glass Lit Dream' was a revelation, coming virtually from out of nowhere. A widely praised debut from this Brooklyn artist, 'Glass Lit Dreams' reflects its title in an intriguing and vaporous sound. Narcotic and haunted R&B, coming across like D'Angelo's 'Voodoo' filtered by the numb paranoia of Tricky's first three records, all the while escaping the trappings through which a lot of the most ethereal efforts within the genre falter, through sheer songwriting and an acute attention to the sounds themselves. The release of 'EP 1' last year was the confirmation of a singular vision as valuable as those of Klein or Tirzah.
