An intriguing alias of Noa Kurzweil (Supertalented) who last year released one of the most sprawling and bold albums in recent times: four and a half hours of music spread out over 109 tracks that feel like a diary turned mixtape for these days of hyper-information and endless Spotify playlists. A creative process of three years, compiled under the accurate name ‘Sent from my Telephone’, that drifts between different languages and emotional states under the casual spell of Kurzweil’s voice. Encompassing everything from brief voice memos to long ambient excursions, from narcotic beats between the hip-hop disruptions of early Autechre and the morose hallucinations of Nearly God to cut-up poetry in the same idyllic wavelength of Broadcast, from drill’s most lysergic moments to rarefied loops. A mirror of sounds that manages, in all its expansiveness, to sound pretty coherent with the virtual and IRL realities of now.
