Carincur

A multidisciplinary artist, with a strong presence in the Portuguese Arts mosaic of current times, Inês Cardoso has been working in fascinating intersections between performance, installation and music through an intuitive exploratory process. Collaborating in various fields with artists such as Piny, Xana Novais, and more frequently with João Pedro Fonseca, Inês puts on the Carincur “mask” as a means to inquire and extrapolate concepts around reality/fiction and electronic/organic. Viewing technology as an extension of the body, Carincur turns these concepts into enchanting and mesmerizing pieces through her voice and its electronic processing as a vehicle for choirs, whispers, textures and drones. Disrupting divisions of time, space and memory on Echoes From a Liquid Memoryand exploring possible symbolisms and rituals in the Web 2.0 era on Selfie Face Filter (New Rituals, New Masks) commissioned by the Culturgest Foundation.
