BLACK ZONE MYTH CHANT

One of the many pseudonyms of the french psychedelic experimentalist High Wolf, that has been active for more than a decade now in the european underground, Black Zone Myth Chant is dedicated to an electronic music of enigmatic make up, integrating obsoloscent hip hop strategies and fictional primitivist jazz. Lisboner record store Flur offered the usual on the spot metaphor by comparing it to “Don Cherry’s ‘Brown Rice’ or the moments with heavier percussion - or the feeling of it - of Popol Vuh, better, if Popol Vuh invited Francis Bebey for a few sessions.” The most recent phonogram “Mane Thecel Phares” was released on fellow parisian artist Low Jack’s label Editions Gravats.
