Released last year on the long-running Sirr-ecords label, ‘Shatter’ revealed Joana de Sá as one of the most promising artists within the effervescent electronic scene in Portugal. A shimmering album, growing patiently through loops made of guitar and synths that reached a kind of suspended beauty. This year’s ‘Lightwaves’ confirmed all the expectations present on the debut, with the artist from Mortágua showing herself to be more confident with a language that, while not strictly ambient, due to the attention given to the acoustic phenomena, occupies a contemplative space - both real and imaginary.
