Dibuk

A Brazilian artist from São Paulo, based in Porto since 2020 after a stint in Berlin, Lea Taragona writes suspended songs under the name Dibuk in the intimacy of her own digressing headspace. With a number of performances throughout Europe, she's been having a discreet presence on Portuguese soil, with just a couple of concerts in her adopted city and the musical co-creation of the performance Über Alles at MAAT in Lisbon under her belt, but we're in the presence of a voice reckoned to be heard widely. On Casa Zero from 2020, featuring her long time partner in crime Victor Negri, Dibuk invokes brief spells in the shape of songs, conjured from dreamy lyrics, layered vocals, soothing guitar chords, field recordings, sparse percussion and synthetic textures that reveal themselves coming from odd angles.
