Tropa Macaca

Tropa Macaca are André Abel and Joana da Conceição, based in Lisbon and publicly active for over a decade. Their performances have been variously described as ‘real rock’ in Hamburg, ‘a patch of the beyond’ in São Paulo, or ‘like being spat on’ in Lisbon. Their work has been published in labels such as Ruby Red, Qbico, Siltbreeze and Software, and they have released their LP “Vida” on London-based label The Triology Tapes. The four songs/rites which make up the LP display a unique density, representing the next chapter in the evolution of their texture-rich music, an infinite techno ballad made out of elegant guitar lines and unique electronic soundscapes.
