POLIDO

POLIDO is the increasingly well-known solo effort of João Polido Gomes, who after living in Porto for a few years, where he connected with the Monster Jinx crew, now finds himself in Lisbon before a new move to Berlin. Throughout that time, POLIDO has been polishing his skills in cut-up and sampling, as if following the lineage from musique concrete to hip-hop, before combining them with the dusty techno of Theo Parish or Moodyman to create music filled with sandy texture and lo-fi contemplation. He released ‘Find Meaning When You Lack Authority’ this year, and frequently collaborates with MMMOOONNNOOO, leaving behind a trail of great impressions and growing expectancy.
