Hieroglyphic Being

Jamal Moss is a unique producer of electronic and dance music (as well as a reputed DJ) who has been threading his own path in the broad genres he embraces for the better part of the past two decades. Born in Chicago, where he first set foot on a club at the urging of Ron Hardy at 12 years old, he draws from techno, house, abstract electronics, noise and jazz (and free jazz, via Sun Ra), equally at ease in the most demanding of dance floors as in a contemporary art museum. Also known as an editor, having founded Mathematics Records, he will perform twice at OUT.FEST: a live set at ADAO (October 8th) with his usual approach and also, two days earlier, in a more improvisational and free jazz register at Velvet Be Jazz Club.
