Klein

Klein is a London-based Nigerian 19 year old artist who has launched her debut album “Only” last February (available both on Bandcamp and as a heart-shaped usb stick put out the Howling Owl label).  Her music is vivid, fluid, current yet different, creating abstract and lo-fi narrative pieces composed by juxtaposing a myriad of sonic elements, most of them random recordings of moments in her life. The end product of her labor makes no effort to hide a taste for the recent history of popular urban music and its female African-American and British role models, but there is also a keen emotional link to Nigerian church music culture, to preaching and congregating, filtered through her own promising ideas and artistic sensibilities.
