Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember has been a legendary navigator and instigator of psychedelia in rock music since forming the untameable Spacemen 3 in 1982. Along with intense performances which have left their mark on memories and creative personalities since then, he has also produced a large body of work which undoubtedly helped define independent music from the 80’s onwards. As evident throughout a notable discography under the aliases of Spectrum and Experimental Audio Research (E.A.R.), Kember is permanently searching for new ways of transmitting the transcendental, accompanied by metaphysical explosions and cosmic callings through sound, rituals and hypnosis. The last decade has seen a rediscovery of his work by younger generations, in part due to his association with Panda Bear on ‘Tomboy’ and ‘Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper’, and also as a producer on ‘Congratulations’ by MGMT.
