Rodrigo Amado: Wire Quartet

Rodrigo Amado is one of Portugal’s most renowned jazz musicians, and his Wire Quartet, having just released their first self titled record on Clean Feed to some rave reviews, gathers three of the more intense and creative improvisers of our country – Manuel Mota on guitar, Hernâni Faustino on double bass and Gabriel Ferrandini on drums. In this working band, Amado searches even further his own conception of liberty, mixing the spirituality of bebop and free jazz’s fire power under the sign of free improvisation and real time composition.
