Faust

“There is no group more mythical than Faust” were the words written by Julian Cope on his acclaimed Krautrocksampler book, contributing decisively to illustrate the major influence the german group in the development of ambient and industrial textures in the early 70’s. They were signed by Virgin, that released the iconic ‘The Faust Tapes’ in 1973 – a collection of home recordings complied by a fan -, collaborated with Tony Conrad in the mesmerizing ‘Outside the Dream Syndicate’, retired and returned in the 90’s with a new understanding of the world around their radical plan – taking cues from músique concrète, Stockhausen and the Velvet Underground, into a whole that quite often revealed itself in pieces of pastoral candor and beauty. At OUT.FEST, on the eve of the release of new album ‘Just Us’, we will have the presence of the core duo of original members Jean-Herve Peron and Werner “Zappi” Diermaier, who will integrate materials and sound sources collected all over Barreiro into their performance.
