Fennesz

Austrian composer and musician with a decisive part in electronic music’s recent history, Fennesz has been using the guitar and laptop to create some of the most vibrant and intense music within this field. Essentially, since the release of the modern classic ‘Endless Summer’ via Mego in 2001, his influence over the indie landscape, acknowledging and taking precious cues from it, has been recognized as determinant, quoting extensively his innovative textural work for guitar and his blessed melodic knack for multiple layers of treated sounds and counterfields of noise. A widely recognized trademark, evocative, epic, always aiming for beauty.

Besides his work with the unstable but charismatic trio Fenn O’Berg - with Peter Rehberg and Jim O’Rourke - in the last few years he collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto in the album ‘Cendre’, Sparklehorse, and David Sylvian, among others. And while his liaison with Touch has been vey productive, his well received new album titled ‘Bécs’ marks a healthy return to Mego.
